Did you know...

#1- I have a birthmark on my eye

#2- I think the rudest thing that someone can do is blow the horn at me…it really hurts my feelings (unless of course, it’s a friendly honk)

#3- My hair is naturally FRIZZY

#4- My favorite T.V. shows are, in no particular order: Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice

#5- I hate spending money and I can pretty much talk myself out of buying anything…even gas sometimes.

#6- I really, really, really hate school

#7- If my stomach was about 100 times stronger, and I didn’t hate school so much, I would want to be a trauma surgeon, like Dr. Hunt on Grey’s

#8- My favorite place to eat in the whole wide world is SOGO’s

#9- I hate being scared. I hate scary movies. I’m not a big fan of the dark.

#10- Every time I get talked into getting on a roller coaster (I never get on by my own free will) I start crying on the way up and then at the very top I start screaming that I want to get off. I hate roller coasters.

#11- The Sound of Music and Enchanted and Wayne’s World (the first one, not second) are my favorite movies ever

resolutions: part 1

With the new year quickly approaching I've been thinking about things that I want to start, or just improve on. When I think about it, I'm not sure I even believe in new year's resolutions because for the most part, I've never seen anyone actually follow through for a whole year. So I'm taking a different approach. I'm going to have a resolution for each month of the year. The way I see it, if you start a good habit and stick with it for a month, then it will be easy to stick with it all year. So I will start with one, and by the end of the year, I will be doing 12 things to improve myself in some way. We'll see how it goes.

So here they are...

January- Go to the gym at least 5 days a week for at least an hour and half.
February- Drink more water: 5 (16 oz.) bottles everyday.
March- Cut out soft drinks completely
April- Fast food only twice a month
May- Eat a healthy breakfast everyday
June- School won't be in anymore and I'll be home for the summer so I won't have free access to the gym at school and since I refuse to actually pay for a gym membership I will go to the park and jog/walk 3 miles 5 days a week
July- Jump rope for 15 minutes every other day
August-
September- School starts back so I'll start the whole gym thing back up
October-
November
December-

Obviously, there are still some blank...I'm still thinking :)

coming soon...

I can't wait until this movie comes out so I can see it! I'll admit, it does look slightly cheesy and very girly, but those are usually my favorites :)

Can't wait!

happy happy day :)

So, for some reason I was looking forward to Christmas this year a little more than I usually do. Maybe it's because I was expecting a very important phone call...yeah, I'm pretty sure that's it. Willie was supposed to call around 3 our time so I had it to look forward to all day long. My mom came to wake me up to open presents around 7:30 and she woke me up by saying, "Jordan, you get to talk to Willie today!" I can't even describe how excited I was!

After opening presents and eating a delicious breakfast and spending some time with my lovely family, I drove to his parents house to wait for the phone call. I was so nervous!! But finally the phone rang (at this point it felt like my heart jumped out of my chest) and I was so happy. He sounded the exact same and he is definitely still Willie. He was cracking jokes on his mom and telling all of us how much he loved us. He couldn't stop talking about how much he loves being on a mission. He loves all of the people that he is working with, he loves his ward and his area, he loves his companion, he loves his mission president...he loves it all. And that makes me so happy :)

So after a while of talking to him he had to go :( Everyone was completely fine until he had to hang up and then there were teary eyes all around. So after saying "I love you" about a million times to everyone he hung up...sad day.

Even though it was sad to hang up it was amazing to get to talk to him! He is doing sooooo good and he absolutely loves what he is doing and that makes me happy.

school :/

If I made a list of my favorite things, school would be towards the bottom...the very bottom. I'm not sure why I don't like school. It may be because of the lengthy papers, the large reading assignments, the pointless classes that I have to take (e.g. statistics, biology, earth science...the list goes on and on and on and on). It really bothers me that I have to take all of these classes and learn these things that more than likely I won't use after graduating.

But there is a positive that comes from all of this. I love the feeling of accomplishment that I get at the end of each semester. So I guess, the main thing that I've learned so far through school is this: No matter how difficult, complicated, or irritating the way, if I keep in mind the value of the outcome, it will all be worth it in the end.

This semester has by far been my best and I will admit it's very accomplishing to see those good grades :)

In one of my favorite talks President Hinckley said something that keeps me going when I get frustrated with school (which surprise surprise, is very often :)),

"You are moving into the most competitive age the world has ever known. All around you is competition. You need all the education you can get. Sacrifice a car; sacrifice anything that is needed to be sacrificed to qualify yourselves to do the work of the world. That world will in large measure pay you what it thinks you are worth, and your worth will increase as you gain education and proficiency in your chosen field.

You belong to a church that teaches the importance of education. You have a mandate from the Lord to educate your minds and your hearts and your hands. The Lord has said, “Teach ye diligently … of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgments which are on the land; and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms—that ye may be prepared in all things” (D&C 88:78–80).

Mind you, these are not my words. These are the words of the Lord who loves you. He wants you to train your minds and hands to become an influence for good as you go forward with your lives. And as you do so and as you perform honorably and with excellence, you will bring honor to the Church, for you will be regarded as a man or woman of integrity and ability and conscientious workmanship. Be smart. Don’t be foolish. You cannot bluff or cheat others without bluffing or cheating yourselves."

I love the reassuring words of the Prophet and the confidence that the Lord has in me.

if you need a laugh....

What I like about you

This is one of my favorite shows to watch. It’s about two sisters who live together, usually argue, are completely opposite, but still love each other. Sounds a lot like me and Carly…actually, it sounds exactly like me and Carly.

Me and Carly started living together at the beginning of this school year.

It’s never surprising when we argue…it happens.

We are very very VERY different…very.

Carly is outspoken, bold and brave. She’s not afraid to say to what she thinks…ever. She never lets anyone run over her. She knows exactly what she wants. She knows exactly who she is. If it enters her mind, it exits her mouth. She has all of the qualities that I wish I had.

I love Carly!

i love my boyfriend :)

I love Willie because...

He makes me laugh

He's so crazy

He's a worthy priesthood holder

We are a lot alike

He's on a mission

-He write the best letters
-He's smart
-He's hilarious
-He has a great family
-He loves me :)
-He's a great example
-He's thoughtful
-He's humble
-He always sees the good in others
-He's a good listener
-He's the best

There are a million reasons.

In one of Willie's latest letters he said, "We all have so much to be thankful for. Our lives could be terrible but we would still have so much to be thankful for because we always have a loving Heavenly Father and we always have the Savior, who is always there to help us."

I love Willie's strong testimony and the way he has dedicated himself to the gospel. He is having such a good time on his mission and I am thankful for that.

I love Christmas!

Christmas is my favorite time of year! People seem to be more polite, happier and all around more joyful. I love Christmas trees and ornaments and presents, I love family and stockings and lights. I love it all! And this year is going to be especially great because Willie gets to call home! I'm so so excited...

There's a reason they say, it's the most wonderful time of the year.

Here goes nothing

So...after looking at a lot of other people's blogs, and being really jealous because all of those were so good...I want one now. Now I'm not the kind of person that's really good at sticking to anything that I'm not forced to do so I'm not promising this will last for any long amount of time, but it's worth a try.

So here goes nothing...
